Prophetic Perspectives #91: The Abraham Accord
Nathan Jones: Amir, can tell us what the terms of the Abraham Accord are and so clarify exactly what this monumental diplomatic event means prophetically?
Amir Tsarfati: The Abraham Accord is simply about peace between Israel and Arab countries that are not bordering with Israel. So far, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have joined. The accord sets the tone for further possible peace agreements with Saudi Arabia and still other Arab nations.
We must understand that this accord has nothing to do with swapping populations or land. It has nothing to do with dividing Israel and Jerusalem.
The base of the Abraham Accord is President Donald Trump's peace initiative for Israel and the Palestinians called the "Deal of the Century." And, basically, it is indeed like that. Since two states were offered as a solution, now we can deal with the other countries. The wonderful thing is that the Palestinians have rejected Trump's deal.
Nathan Jones: It's said the Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss and opportunity.
Amir Tsarfati: Absolutely! The Abraham Accord is a far worse deal for the Palestinians than any other deal ever offered to them in history.
Personally, I think the Deal was the work of genius on behalf of President Trump because what he did was basically expose the Palestinians. They don't really want peace with Israel, rather the Palestinians want to live in the land instead of the Jews. The Deal said if they really wanted to live in peace in Israel then they had to respect the fact that Jerusalem is already the capital of the Jewish people and has been so for the last 3,000 years. They must also respect the fact that the Jewish people live in homes in Judea and Samaria and believe that the Jews are not kicking the Palestinians out of their homes.
The Palestinians also have to accept the fact that the nation of Israel will not accept the idea of third and fourth generation refugees. There's no such thing. A refugee cannot be second generation. Only for the Palestinians has the UN adjusted that definition.
Nathan Jones: Isn't the standard of living for the Palestinians living in Israel higher than most Arab nations?
Amir Tsarfati: Of course. The Arabs in Israel do not want any other regime in Israel but the Jewish state.
But, the thing is this, President Trump said the Palestinians needed to look at reality and accept it. And, now, to go with it. They cannot live in their dreams that they'll get the entire land of Israel to themselves.
Nathan Jones: So, no mantra, "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free"?
Amir Tsarfati: That's not going to work. Again, it's not going to work. This is why President Trump had no problem moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. After all, look, Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel. Why pretend that it is not when it is? So, why not move the embassy and act out the truth that Jerusalem is Israel's capital? Trump didn't do anything new for the Jewish people. We've been dealing all along as if Jerusalem is our capital. Thankfully, someone smelled the coffee and woke up. Now, other nations are following suit.
The Abraham Accord is in a way collateral damage of Trump's Palestinian-Israeli peace initiative. The genius of the Deal is, the Palestinians for the longest time held a veto for any peace Israel may have with any other Arab state. The Palestinians used to say, "Give us everything we want, then the Arab nations will have peace with Israel." President Trump said to the effect, "No, no, no. Let's do exactly the opposite. We will let the Arabs have peace with Israel. When you see the fruit of that peace, then we can finally put an end to this conflict."
The Accord and the Antichrist
Nathan Jones: So far, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have joined the Abraham Accord, and soon some seven or so other countries such as Kosovo and possibly Saudi Arabia will follow suit. Is this accord then the peace that the Bible prophesied that the Antichrist was supposed to make with Israel? And, if so, would that mean then that Donald Trump is the Antichrist? Some people are wondering.
Amir Tsarfati: I know, I know. I get that question a lot as well. I answer that if you read the passage in Daniel 9 about the peace covenant that describes the peace and the length of the deal, as well as the person of the Antichrist, nothing fits Donald Trump or the treaty itself.
First of all, the Antichrist has to be someone the entire world will worship. Excuse me, but that's not Donald Trump. He's not the most popular person.
Second, the Antichrist's treaty is set to last for seven years in length. The Deal of the Century and the Abraham Accord — these are not set at seven years.
Third, the Antichrist's deal will be there when Israel supposedly has a temple on the Temple Mount, because halfway through the Tribulation, the Antichrist will cease the sacrifices. So, there are so many things involved with the Antichrist's treaty that are not involved in the Abraham Accord.
We have to remember that in order for the Antichrist to arise, the Church must first be out of here. As 2 Thessalonians 2 talks about, the Restrainer must be taken out of the Antichrist's way in order for him to be revealed. So, everything doesn't match. The Church is still here, Donald Trump is only the President, and the Abraham Accord has nothing to do with the Temple of the Jews in Jerusalem.
The Accord and the Prophetic Timeline
Nathan Jones: Where then does the Abraham Accord fit into Bible prophecy?
Amir Tsarfati: I believe it sets the stage for the Ezekiel 38-39 Gog-Magog War. According to Ezekiel 38, Israel must be safe, secure, and prosperous. These Trump-negotiated deals are making Israel stronger in the Middle East and less of a controversial state. The Arabs are treating Israel less like it is an illegitimate state. Look, the Arabs are beginning to accept the Jewish state. We are no longer the red-headed stepchild. Israel is being considered a fair player in the Middle East. The Arab countries are seeing the benefits of siding with Israel.
May I add, all of this shift is in thanks to Barack Hussein Obama. The Iran Deal that he signed in 2015 basically backstabbed the Sunni countries such as Saudi Arabia. That's when the Saudis, who are like the mother of all of the other Gulf states, decided they must change the way they see Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was the only one who stood in Congress against President Obama and against his administration and spoke out against the Iran Deal. When the Saudis saw that, of course, they knew which ally to choose.
Nathan Jones: So, in summary, we are not seeing the Tribulation happening right now. Donald Trump is not the Antichrist. I agree, the Abraham Accord is not the Antichrist's peace treaty. Rather, the accord is laying down the peace and safety prerequisite that Israel will be in before the Gog-Magog invasion by Russia, Iran and Turkey as prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39.
All of these Bible prophecies are coming together right now! We should then be asking people, "Have you given your life to Jesus Christ? Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?" Jesus is coming soon! Are you ready?
